Betsy, sounds like she is on her way, but actually she will arrive in Jax a week from tomorrow evening (tuesday) at 10:30 p.m.
Betsy, Rick said to bring some single malt scotch. I can't think of anything we need from Ohio, but tell Kathy to bring her Pandora bracelet. I want to see it.
Rick and Ryan went to the NCAA basketball games on Friday and Sunday that were in Jax. The rest of the weekend they worked on replacing fencing in the backyard. It is over 20 years old and falling down.
I've had a bad cold, it left me useless. I was tired and slept a lot and had no energy to do anything. I think I'm on the mend now.
Today I'm driving a dentist friend of ours to the ortho dr. He broke his foot in January and hasn't be able to drive so I'm helping out there. Rick is going to his office on Thursday afternoons to keep it going. It looks like he will retire and sell the practice, but you want it to be viable when it sells. He has some other issues as well.
Ryan's 30 year old birthday party was on Saturday. Ashley and Kyla came. I don't think Ryan cared if he had a party or not, but Kyla enjoyed blowing out the candles and singing. We had to pretend it was a surprise too when he walked into the kitchen.
I'm still trying to get the yard cleaned up and the house in order. We had such a long, cold winter that a lot of stuff died off. I don't really like yard work anyway.
Ryan lost his job at Outback in Georgia. He was there for 6 months and would like to stay in the area, so he is at Dover Bluff looking for something off the island, maybe in Brunswick. He's been working around here and at the office to clean up the decking and parking lot. He did some painting in Dover Bluff too. I haven't seen it yet.
It's supposed to go into the 70s this week, no more freezing weather, they said we can plant the annuals now and cut the lawn. Lots of the lawns are brown, ours doesn't look too bad.
Rick talked to his brother in MI on Saturday and it was snowing!
Take care, love,
Marilynn
I love yard work. Save the planting for me. bob will help clean up too.
ReplyDeleteHow did Ryan lose his job?
Good, there will be plenty left, have no fear. Ryan was in St. Simon's Island since last August at Outback but they let him go mid-February due to lack of customer's. It's sort of a resort spot. Today he pressure washed the back of the house, the porch, porch furniture and cleaned out the pond. We did a little trimming in the front yard too. He's been a big help here and at Dover Bluff. He has been painting the basement at Dover and cleaning and staining the porches.
